Fathom

An operating console for AI-native research teams, built to track experiments, evaluations and pipeline status in one view.

Fathom operating console

Challenge

Fathom's research workflows were spread across disconnected tools, making it difficult for teams to see the status of an experiment, its evaluation results, or what was queued next.

Approach

We designed a single operating console that unifies experiment tracking, evaluation results and pipeline status, giving research teams one place to understand what is running, what shipped, and what needs attention.

The work

A connected view of every experiment.

Fathom pipeline overview

Pipeline overview. A single console surfaces every active experiment and its current status at a glance.

Fathom weekly throughput

Weekly throughput, tracked against target.

Fathom evaluation results

Evaluation results, grouped by run.

Fathom run detail

Run detail. A focused view for inspecting a single experiment without losing context of the wider pipeline.

Fathom model comparison view

Model comparison view.

Fathom queue and scheduling state

Design thinking
"Reducing complexity without removing capability."

Research tools tend to accumulate density over time. Every new capability adds another panel, filter or state. Our starting question was simple: what does a researcher actually need to see in the first five seconds of opening the console?

We organized the interface around three questions: what is running, what changed, and what needs a decision. Everything else moved a layer deeper, reachable but no longer competing for attention on the main screen.

Outcome
A scalable product system that empowers AI teams to evaluate faster, collaborate more effectively and expand the platform with confidence as new models, workflows and experiments are introduced.
